I've decided to rant randomly here instead of on LiveJournal...

At 4:15 PM, later today...I have a portfolio due for my Creative Writing class. And guess what: I haven't done anything for it yet, save for 4 writing pieces out of about 7 needed for the complete portfolio. that's need even counting the "reviews" on readings.

Here's another guess what: I don't think I'll be completing this portfolio. Why? Because I don't care, because I'm not inspired, because my computer's been busted for 3 weeks, because I'm not an English major...

And you know, I don't care. This class really wasn't for me. I like to write for fun, and mostly fanfiction (because I'm a FILTHY, UNORIGINAL WHORE AND I LOVE EVERY BIT OF ME THAT IS, MWAHAHAHA) and this class is mostly about poetry...and not that nice Dr. Suess or Shakespeare poetry. This is like...real poetry (lol, like the other two aren't XD) but real cracked out poets who write because they write. Not to express emotions, not to get their word out, not to make money. Because they wanna fuck around with the language (as my Professor constantly says, though not in those words) because they can.

Well...that's not my kind of writing. True, this class opened up my mind to a whole new spectrum of the writing world, but that's not why I write. I write because it's fun. I write because I'm an insatiable fangirl. I write because I want these random stories in my head to form some sort of substance on paper. I don't want to play around with the language, I just wanna use it to get my crazy out.

This class isn't for me. I'm gonna try my best to write at least 3 more pieces for the portfolio and maybe 2 reviews, write up a paper about the theme, and add some of my rant from this journal entry. Yes, I know it's a class. Yes, I know I'm paying for it. But I'm not an English major. I don't want to be. I'm a Music major, and as of next semester a VOCAL PERFORMANCE major. I wanna make something of the vocal music world, not of the writing world (despite what my mother says).

So...sorry, Professor Byrd. I'll be handing in my portfolio 14 hours from now incomplete. You're a phenomenal person with such a creative, open mind. But your class wasn't for me this semester, but thanks for letting me give it a try anyway.
